Collaborative Software for Streamlined Car Insurance Claim Processing
Empowering a US-Based Software Company to Digitize and Optimize Auto Insurance Claim Estimation. Our client is a leading US software development company focused on transforming the automotive industry’s claims and maintenance workflows through digital solutions. Recognizing the growing demand for streamlined and efficient claim processing, they aimed to advance their existing technology by consolidating four distinct web prototypes into a unified, fully functional web application platform. These prototypes were originally designed to serve different stakeholders separately — car insurance companies, car owners, and estimation experts — but lacked integration, scalability, and robust functionality.
The client’s extensive network of partners spans insurance companies, vehicle repair shops, car dealerships, and manufacturers, all of whom rely on timely and accurate claim management to optimize customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. By developing a comprehensive system, the client sought to bridge communication gaps between insurers, experts, and car owners, creating seamless workflows for accident data entry, damage assessment, and cost estimation.
The client’s existing system consisted of four standalone web prototypes tailored separately for insurance companies, car owners, and estimation experts. Each prototype required extensive refinement to transform into fully functional, integrated web applications capable of supporting real-world workflows and collaboration.
Car owners lacked easy, on-the-go access to claim reporting tools, and insurers had insufficient features to capture complete accident details or communicate estimation results efficiently. Estimation experts needed better systems for claim intake, review, and status tracking to reduce overlaps and improve processing speed.
To improve claim reporting at accident sites, the client required a responsive, mobile-friendly web application enabling car owners to upload damage images, annotate repairs on a 3D car model, and monitor claim progress conveniently.
eSparkbiz insurance software development team adopted Scrum methodology to evolve the prototypes into a modular, scalable web app ecosystem, using React.js for responsive, interactive user interfaces.
Modified the accident detail input interface to include new fields like VIN and mileage. Enhanced the system to save submitted data and provide multiple notification channels (email, SMS, calls) for claim estimation results.
Developed an intuitive interface for uploading vehicle damage photos and mapping repairs on a 3D car model designed by our artists. Enabled submission of claims directly to experts and allowed car owners to track claim status. A mobile-friendly version replicated these functionalities on smartphones and tablets.
Created two specialized apps: one to process textual claim data from insurers and another to review damage photos from car owners. Added claim status tracking so experts could avoid duplication and monitor customer agreement on estimations.
Implemented a microservices-based backend for modular deployment and easier maintenance. Each service handled distinct business processes while communicating via well-defined protocols. Rigorous automated testing ensured system reliability and user-friendly performance.
The client received a fully functional, integrated system that significantly enhanced collaboration among insurance companies, car owners, and estimation experts. The solution enabled efficient claim processing workflows, combining textual data and visual evidence for accurate damage estimation. User experience improvements led to higher satisfaction rates compared to the initial prototypes, while the mobile web app empowered car owners to report incidents directly from accident sites, accelerating claims initiation and resolution. This streamlined platform positioned the client as a leader in digital claims management within the automotive insurance space.
