Project Overview

Remote Control for Natural Light Lamp
The mobile app serves as a remote control for the natural light lamp, allowing parents to turn it on and off or adjust its brightness directly from their smartphones. This feature ensures that parents can conveniently manage the lamp without needing to manually interact with the device. It adds to the overall convenience and ease of use, ensuring the baby’s environment is always appropriately lit.

Scales and Height Meter Integration
Through the app, data from baby scales and a digital height meter is automatically transferred and saved in a log for future reference. This integration makes it easy for parents to track their baby’s growth and development over time. The app eliminates the need for manual record-keeping and provides an organized overview of the baby’s measurements, enhancing the health monitoring process.

Formula Milk Maker Customization
The app allows parents to remotely select the amount and temperature of formula milk for their baby. Once set, the formula milk maker calculates the required amount of formula powder and prepares the milk at the specified temperature. This feature ensures that parents can provide the perfect formula for their baby without having to be present near the machine, saving time and effort.

Continuous Temperature Monitoring with Thermometer
The thermometer device can be worn by the baby for continuous temperature monitoring, transmitting data at set intervals to the mobile app. In case of any temperature abnormalities, the app sends push notifications to alert the parents. This feature provides real-time health insights, ensuring that parents are always aware of their baby’s well-being and can take prompt action if needed.

GPS Smart Watch for Child Safety
The GPS smart watch, worn by the child, enables easy communication between the parent and child via an emoji-based chat feature. Additionally, parents can mark a “safe zone” on the map within the app. If the child leaves the defined safe zone, the app receives a push notification, allowing parents to take immediate action and ensure the child’s safety.

Data Tracking and Statistical Insights
The app collects and stores data from all the connected devices, offering a detailed history and the ability to generate statistical graphs for each device. Parents can track input history, monitor changes over time, and gain valuable insights into their baby’s health and development. The Problem

The project faced challenges with ensuring seamless communication between five different baby care devices, each using various connectivity methods. Additionally, real-time health monitoring, user-friendly design, data security, and cross-platform compatibility presented technical hurdles that needed to be overcome to deliver a smooth and reliable app experience for parents.

Device Connection

The main challenge was ensuring that five distinct baby care devices (lamp, scales, milk maker, thermometer, and GPS watch) could communicate seamlessly with one another. Each device used different methods for connecting, such as Bluetooth and backend systems, making it a complex task to synchronize and manage them in real-time. Ensuring smooth communication between these devices was crucial to the app’s functionality.

Real-Time Monitoring

The app needed to constantly monitor and display real-time health data, including the baby’s temperature, weight, and other critical health indicators. The challenge here was building a system capable of handling frequent data updates without delays.
