Four gaps that shaped the build from day one
Not vague pain points — the specific tensions in connecting rooms, systems and staff inside one hospitality platform, each paired with what we did about it.
Hotels relied on several applications and outdated systems that did not communicate well with each other. Keeping a smooth, consistent experience for guests was difficult, and the gaps showed up as confusion, delays and operational inefficiency behind the scenes.

A large part of hotel operations depended on manual coordination between teams. From managing bookings to handling guest requests, staff had to invest significant time and effort, which increased workload and slowed down response times and service delivery.

With the rise in digital transactions and online guest interactions, hotels faced growing pressure to ensure data security and meet compliance standards. Handling sensitive guest information securely while keeping up with regulatory requirements was an ongoing challenge.
Security treated as a design focus alongside simplicity and scalability, with BLE-based smart access, controlled portal roles and testing that validated smart device communication, operational workflows and compliance before release.

One Progressive Web App serves guests, operators and vendors across smartphones, tablets, desktops and hotel devices, so a guest can unlock a room from a phone and staff can work the same system from a desk.
A .NET service layer exposes standardised APIs for property management system connectivity and handles requests from every portal, keeping guest, operator and vendor access on one contract.
RabbitMQ carries messages between services, so smart access, service requests, dashboards and payments can be tuned or extended without destabilising the others.
The platform runs cloud-native on Azure, sized to absorb more guests, rooms and services as the group grows and to hold performance through peak operational periods.

How we got there
Five stages, starting with how a hotel actually runs day to day rather than a feature list.
A deep dive into the client's hospitality operations — workflows, daily challenges and guest engagement methods — to find the bottlenecks limiting efficiency and to understand long-term growth goals.
Platform architecture and the feature roadmap were structured from those insights, then divided into agile iterations for faster development, quick feedback cycles and continuous improvement.
A mobile-first, minimalistic design approach so both guests and hotel staff could navigate the platform easily, reducing learning time and improving day-to-day efficiency.
